Acer Lands US$500 Mln Order from Suning Appliance of China

Acer signed a purchase contract with Suning Appliance, one of China's home appliance chain stores, on February 16, 2011, according to the China Post of Taiwan. The contract is estimated at US$500 million. As per the contract, Acer will supply its products, mainly notebook PCs, to Suning through next year. With the signing of the contract, Acer aims to increase its PC market share in China to 15% by year end, up from the current 10%. Suning is a major 3C distributor in China, with 1,400 stores located in China, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Osaka.
